Frequently Asked Questions:
What is Little Monsters’ Ball (LMB)?
Baby’s first Halloween (or second)?! Join us for some teeny-weeny-masquerade fun! Attend the Little Monsters Ball with family and friends for a baby & toddler-oriented costume party, including simple sensory play & activity areas!
What is the Halloween Hike (HH)?
Children 3 and older will have a place for their bigger energy and faster bodies outside at the third annual Ketcha Outdoor’s Halloween Hike. Dress up as a whole family! Explore forest trails to find treats, visit the chickens & goats at the farm, get creative at the arts and crafts tables, and enjoy some delicious fall treats!
How do I purchase tickets?
Tickets will go on sale on the Birth Roots website at 12pm noon on Tues, Oct 1st. Please plan to purchase a ticket ($30 each) to one of the following sessions:
9-10:30am: Little Monsters’ Ball
9-10:30am: Halloween Hike
11-12:30pm: Little Monsters’ Ball
11-12:30pm: Halloween Hike
One ticket covers the cost of entry for all participants in the vehicle. In other words, one ticket = one parked car = $30. If your party requires more than one parking spot, you will need more than one ticket.
Which ticket should I purchase?
Please purchase an LMB ticket if anyone in your vehicle will be attending the Little Monsters’ Ball (for two and under, and grown-ups). If you purchase an LMB ticket and some in your vehicle want to attend the Halloween Hike (i.e. a child is three and older), they will be welcome to do so! No additional ticket is needed. We will have signs on site to show where the hike begins.
Please purchase an HH ticket if all in your vehicle will be attending the Halloween Hike (for three and older).
What if my child is an upper-2 year old and has made the leap from toddling to fully running?
The Little Monsters Ball is designed for babies and toddlers (newborns, sitters, crawlers & newer walkers) who benefit from a slower, indoor pace. If this doesn’t sound like your little one, please consider choosing the Halloween Hike, which offers lots of opportunity to run and adventure outdoors with greater freedom.
Why is this event not ticketed per person?
We ticket this event per parked car in order to ensure all have access to parking upon arrival, as well as to keep it economical for families.
If you will have multiple families attending in your vehicle and you are in a position to do so, we greatly appreciate you adding a $25 donation to your ticket purchase. All proceeds from this event benefit Birth Roots and Ketcha Outdoors.
What if the event ticket I want is sold out when I go to register?
The LMB tickets often sell out within an hour or two of ticket sales opening. We strongly encourage you to add your name to the LMB waitlist if you’d like to be contacted if/when additional spots open up.
Will there be a rain date?
This collaborative event is a fundraiser to benefit two nonprofits: Birth Roots and the Ketcha Outdoors. While tickets purchased are fully transferable to another family (as in the instance of illness), tickets are nonrefundable, even in the event of uncooperative weather. We consider these events “rain or shine,” and would only expect to cancel them under unsafe weather conditions.
I have questions! Where do I ask them?
Please reach out to us at info@birthroots.org with questions about the Little Monsters Ball or Halloween Hike events. If we can’t answer the specific Halloween Hike question, we’ll pass it along to our colleagues at Ketcha Outdoors.
A very special thank you to our Birth Roots 20th Anniversary Year sponsors! We encourage you to click through to their websites to learn more about these wonderful local resources for Maine families.
